A Look at the Broader Market

Welcome to the 5th Market Update Issue.

Today I wanted to provide a full update on the broader market view I’ve been sharing for the last several months. We’ll evaluate how it’s holding up and cover the latest take on where it looks to be headed for the rest of the year.

First I will review the short-term price action on Bitcoin as I promised to update on the “drop-watch” discussed last issue.

Before we get into either, I have an announcement.

Announcement

After much consideration, I have made the decision to raise the monthly cost for subscription to this newsletter.

When I made the forced switch to Substack, I fully intended to keep cost fixed. There are two reasons I have decided otherwise:

1. A serious review of the time commitment in producing this content weekly has led me to make a rate adjustment.

2. Substack has a different revenue-share structure in place with writers, and takes a much larger cut than I realized.

Monthly and yearly subscriptions will still be offered. The new rates will be:

• Monthly: $12 per month

• Yearly: $130 per year

The new prices will go into effect February 1st.

You will only be charged the new rates starting on your next billing cycle.

Example: Your current monthly billing cycle ends February 20th. You will be charged the new monthly rate starting February 20th.

Example: Your current yearly billing cycle ends January 20th, 2024. You will be charged the new yearly rate starting January 20th, 2024.

I am sympathetic to keeping costs as reasonable and competitive as possible, and have made this decision after significant personal time and cost consideration.
